Hymnals for St Bega's and St Catherine's
Eskdale Parochial Church Council recently agrred to purchase 50 copies of a new hymnal and these will be placed in the churches fairly soon. The hymnals contain a wide selection of hymns ,ranging from the more traditional to a more modern style.
Several members of the congregation have expressed a wish to purchase one, or more, of these hymnals to donate to the Parish as a dedication, either to remember a Loved One or to celebrate an event such as a wedding or a christening. The hymnals will be therefore available for purchase at £10 each and a bookplate, with a suitable inscription, will be printed and placed on the inside of the front cover. please contact Anne Baker or one of the Eskdale churchwardens if you are interested in this scheme
The hymnals are from Kevin Mayhew Ltd and are of the "One Church, One Faith, One Lord" series.
The hymnals have been bought and were first used at the Carol Service at St Bega's Church on December 19th.
Some 20 hymnals have already been dedicated in memory of specific persons and bookplates have been created with those dedications.
