Do you visit Eskdale and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the churches in our valley?
would you help us to support and maintain these churches for future generations?
Then please become a Friend of St Catherine
We depend on the generosity of our local community , and our visitors, to keep the Church alive in Eskdale.
We do not receive outside funding yet we need to raise £55,000 this year to both pay for our vicar, cover expenses and maintain the fabric of the churches.
We run a four-yearly 'Planned Giving' campaign in the local community and our next campaign starts in 2010. Since the beginning of the current campaign our costs have doubled.
Church maintenance is costly and energy costs have gone up alarmingly! We are re-doubling our efforts at fund-raising but, as a small community, our resources are limited and we would appreciate your help.
Please become one of The Friends of St Catherine by making an annual donation of £25.
If you are a UK Taxpayer and can Giftaid your donation we can reclaim the tax that you have already paid on the donation from the Inland Revenue.

If you have any ideas for events that you would find interesting, please email your suggestions to me at
