Christenings in the Benefice

Children are a gift from God and we are delighted when parents bring their children for baptism (Christening). This gives us an opportunity to give thanks to God for the birth of the baby, name it with its Christian name and welcome the child into the Christian family of the Church.

We welcome for baptism all children in our parishes along with others who have especial links with our churches. The baptism normally takes place within the Sunday service of the parish church and no charge is made.

However, where it is not possible for families to come at this time, we may be able to arrange to do it at a time more suitable for them.
